Packages With Photography Included

The six packages with a photographer follow the same pattern: a ceremony on a private boat or in a villa, then a portrait session in a historic garden. Delivery within 24 hours is written into all six.

  • Just A Dream Como (€2,200). The ceremony takes place on a private boat during a 90-minute cruise. The package lists 50 selected images delivered within 24 hours.
  • Old Money Como (€3,800). After the boat ceremony, a 90-minute exclusive visit to one of five villa gardens, with the photographer working through the garden. A lakeside picnic follows.
  • La Dolce Vita Como (€5,700). Three hours of photography: boat ceremony, 90 minutes in a villa garden, then a couples spa treatment and dinner.
  • Sunset Royale Como (€7,500). Villa Monastero in Varenna is yours for three hours. The ceremony is in the Loggia, followed by a 90-minute shoot in the botanical garden.
  • Sky And Lake Como (€8,300). A morning boat ceremony, a villa photoshoot, lunch and a seaplane flight over Bellagio, Varenna and Villa del Balbianello.
  • Just Us Infinity Lake Como (€9,800). Day one is a sunset boat ceremony. Day two starts with a 90-minute villa shoot in the morning light.

Every one of these packages also lists live streaming or video for family at home.

How Many Hours of Coverage You Need

Lake Como is long and narrow, and moving between places takes time. The coverage you need depends on how many settings you want in the photos.

  • 2 hours: enough for the ceremony and portraits in one place, such as a terrace, a castle or a private dock.
  • 3 to 4 hours: ceremony, a short boat ride and a second setting, for example a villa garden or a village waterfront.
  • Full day: getting ready, ceremony, boat, villa and dinner. Choose it when the day includes several stops along the lake.
  • Two days: a second session the morning after, when the lake is quiet. Just Us Infinity Lake Como is built this way.

Ferries and boats set the pace of the day. Your planner builds the timeline around them, so the photographer is not waiting at a pier.

Best Spots on Lake Como for Elopement Photos

Our packages use settings on all three branches of the lake. Each one gives a different kind of picture.

  • The water. A wooden boat with the villas and mountains behind is the classic Lake Como image. Five of the six packages with photography start on a private boat.
  • Varenna. Villa Monastero has a botanical garden stretching along the shore. Castello di Vezio sits on the hill above the village, with views over the central lake.
  • The Tremezzina. Villa Carlotta is known for its camellias and azaleas. Villa del Balbianello stands on a terraced promontory and is one of the gardens in Old Money Como.
  • Bellagio. Villa Melzi has lakefront gardens on the edge of the village, at the point where the lake divides.
  • Cernobbio. Villa Pizzo has waterfront gardens along the shore, and Villa D’Este has the Terrazza Mantero.
  • Como city. The rooftop of Palazzo Genazzini looks over the first basin of the lake.

Light and the Best Time of Day

The two most useful hours are early morning and the hour before sunset. The light is soft, and the water is often calmer in the morning.

The shores face different ways. Varenna, on the east shore, faces west and holds the evening light. The Tremezzina, on the west shore, faces east and gets the morning sun.

Midday light in summer is hard and the gardens are busy with visitors. Packages with exclusive use, such as Villa Monastero or Castello di Vezio after public hours, avoid the crowds.

Overcast days are not a problem for portraits. Cloud spreads the light evenly, and the mountains turn soft and grey behind you.

Best Months for a Lake Como Elopement

May, June and September are the most requested months. Gardens are in flower in spring, and September brings warm water and golden evenings.

July and August are hot and busy, so ceremonies move to the morning or the late afternoon. October is quieter, with shorter days.

Opening times of some villas and boat services change in winter. Check the date on each product page before you plan the trip.

Legal or Symbolic Ceremony

All our Lake Como elopement packages are symbolic ceremonies. There are no Italian documents, no fixed hours and no limits on where the ceremony takes place.

Most couples sign the legal marriage at home, before or after the trip. A civil ceremony in Italy can also be arranged separately, through the town hall. Our guide on how to get married in Italy as a foreigner explains the documents.

How to Book Your Elopement and Photographer

  • Choose the package and check the date on its product page.
  • Tell us if you want photography added, and for how many hours.
  • We confirm the ceremony time around boats, light and access to the setting.
  • In the final week, your planner sends the timeline to you, the celebrant and the photographer.
