The Experience
Villa Monastero began as a Cistercian convent before becoming one of the most significant botanical collections in northern Italy. Its gardens run for nearly two kilometres along the Lecco arm of Lake Como, accumulating plant species from Mediterranean and subtropical climates over centuries of cultivation. The Loggia — the villa’s primary reception space, opening directly onto the water — is one of the most formally beautiful interior spaces on the Lario. Your taxi boat brings you from your hotel to the villa landing. For three hours, the property is yours in full exclusivity: no other visitors, no tours. The ceremony takes place in the Loggia with all three rituals. The photoshoot moves through the botanical garden — bougainvillea pergolas, ancient plantings, lake light through every archway. Lunch at a lakeside restaurant follows before the return taxi boat.
